About Rachael
Rachael’s path to gardening began in a rather different world — museums and libraries. After years of studying and working in those carefully curated environments, she realised that she wanted to be outdoors, helping to nurture living collections instead.
Training and Experience
To make the change, she retrained at the Norfolk School of Gardening and joined the Work and Retrain as a Gardener Scheme (WRAGS).
As part of this, she spent a year working part-time in a 20-acre formal garden on a private estate, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in all aspects of horticulture from experienced head gardeners— from propagation and pruning to border care and plant training.

Creating Norfolk Lady Gardener
Rachael started Norfolk Lady Gardener to offer something she felt was missing — a gardening service that bridges the gap between routine maintenance and specialist horticultural care.
Her aim is to provide high-quality, thoughtful gardening — combining the practical skills needed for jobs like hedge cutting, mowing, and garden clearance with the fine, detailed work of pruning, planting, and seasonal border care.
